The Omani Blockchain Symposium is conceived to bring the best minds and global ideas together in Muscat for a series of inspiring talks and discussions, covering the areas of Blockchain technologies most likely to have a significant impact on the local economy.

Over 700 participants are expected to attend including, top decision makers from both the public and private sectors.  A number of international speakers will share their foresights in the exciting new Blockchain technologies, with a particular accent on areas relevant to Banking and Financial Industry, Government Services, Supply Chains, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Investment & Venture Capital and Skills & Competencies Development.

Blockchain technologies are currently growing at an extraordinary pace. We believe that truly innovative events such as Muscat Symposium will be highly valuable in the future. This will help spread global best practices and promote companies with offerings that merit an accelerated adoption rate worldwide.

The breadth and depth of information covered in each session will be significantly increased based on the feedback from previous participants, potentially transforming it into a must attend event in the Crypto Finance and Blockchain industries.

Event Background

The Omani government is very committed to diversifying the national economy by focusing on creating new employment opportunities in growing industries which will be a major theme of the symposium. Organising this event will raise the awareness amongst relevant authorities of the multiple technology applications of Blockchain architectures – as well as to position their institutions in a pioneering or governing role from a crypto-governance standpoint.

 

The global promotion of Oman as an enabling business environment for international Blockchain companies is also part of the scope.  Thus, the following organisations are part of the symposium’s Organising Committee:

The Blockchain Symposium will be divided into two main modules: 

– Day 1 & Day 2 (6-7 Nov.)

Aim to conceptualizing a national Blockchain framework, through and interactive dialogue between distinguished experts with more than 700 local senior participants.

– Day 3 & Day 4 (8-9 Nov.)

 Technical retreat with selected groups to conclude with possible Implementation Plans for selected pilot projects.
