Brief

The 4th industrial revolution race is highly dependent on digital technologies developed by talented people. Entering this race requires development of local talent, especially those in their final academic stages. The aim of this competition is to encourage the students and create opportunities to discover their capabilities as well as supporting them in establishing their own enterprises. The competition is focused on developing Blockchain applications (in coordination with the Blockchain Solutions & Services company). There will be three winners in this competition. 1st place winner  will win a cash prize have the opportunity to become an entrepreneur and market their application locally and internationally through a joint venture with Blockchain Solutions & Services (BSS) Company. 2nd and 3rd place winners will win cash prizes as well as the opportunity to join an incubation program with SAS or Riyahda.

 

Objective

 

 

To stimulate the spirit of entrepreneurship in Omani society, especially Omani graduates and post-graduate students in their final stages of academic education. This competion gives them the opportunity to utilize their acquired skills, competences and interests in developing Omani owned Blockchain applications.

Who may apply to this competition?
  • Undergraduate or post-graduate Omani developers from local or international academic institutions
  • Entrepreneurs from society
  • The applicant(s) must be a member with the Oman Blockchain Club
  • The competition teams should clearly indicate the role of each member

Usefull Skills for the Project include:

  • Good comprehension of distributed ledger technology, cryptography and mathematical algorithms
  • Ability to design secure digital wallets with recovery options
  • Good comprehension of:
    • Microsoft ASP.NET MVC, Web API
    • API Frameworks (appreciation of and ability to apply API-first design principles)
    • REST + JSON
    • C, C++, C# and F#
